The UK arm of US healthcare company Abbott, with a manufacturing site in Witney, Oxfordshire, and a three-year operations graduate programme.
Abbott is a global healthcare company. In the UK its Witney site makes sensors for the FreeStyle Libre glucose monitoring system, and its operations graduates learn how that manufacturing process works.
We could not read a mission statement from Abbott's UK pages. The graduate listing describes its programme in terms of mentoring, a personalised growth plan and customised training, rather than a company mission.
The programme is based at Witney, Oxfordshire, for the start and first two rotations, and then includes a final rotation abroad. Search results also point to earlier Abbott graduate programmes in biomedical sciences and engineering.
We did not find culture information, so ask current graduates about the day-to-day experience.
The Operations Professional Development Program for a summer 2027 start lasts three years in annual rotations. It asks for a 2:1 or higher in engineering (automation, mechanical or electrical), biotechnology, pharmacy, food science or a related degree, a strong academic record, prior internship experience and the right to work in the UK without sponsorship. It closed on 20 September 2026. Pay was described only as the same competitive salary and benefits as other Abbott staff.
