About Adyen

Adyen is a payments company that helps businesses accept payments wherever customers are: online, in an app or in a shop. It works as both the technology that connects a business to card schemes and local payment methods and as an acquiring bank, which means it can handle the money side as well. Companies use one Adyen system instead of stitching several together.

Adyen was founded in 2006 by Pieter van der Does, who is now chief executive, and Arnout Schuijff. It is headquartered in Amsterdam and listed on Euronext Amsterdam. It opened offices in San Francisco, Paris and London in 2012 as part of its early global expansion, and it now has offices in 23 countries.

Its products include payment processing and risk management, in-store payment terminals, card issuing, and finance and banking tools for businesses. Wikipedia lists eBay, which moved most of its marketplace customers to Adyen, Dick's Sporting Goods, Vietnam Airlines and Temu among its customers.

We did not find a formal company mission statement in the sources we read.

For young people, Adyen's careers site advertises roles in London in areas such as sales, account management and policy. We did not find a UK graduate or internship programme on the pages we read, so we are not claiming one; check its careers page.
