A Hampshire-based UK insurer selling car, home, travel and caravan cover through brokers, partners and brands including Kwik Fit Insurance and esure.
Ageas UK is the UK general insurance business of the Belgian-based Ageas group. It offers car, home, travel and caravan insurance, and describes itself on its Wikipedia profile as the UK's third-largest private vehicle insurer and fourth-largest travel insurer. It works through brokers and partners and has brands such as Kwik Fit Insurance. Its roots go back to the Retirement Insurance Advisory Service, founded in 1992 by David Holden, and in 2012 it took on the UK insurance operations of Groupama, adding about a million policyholders. The business was part of the Fortis group before it took the Ageas name, and the wider Ageas group reported 50,000 employees worldwide in 2023.
Its careers site describes a culture built on "human spirit" and strong relationships at all levels. The values it lists are caring for and respecting others, daring to push boundaries, delivering on promises, and inspiring others by sharing success. We did not find a separate mission statement for Ageas UK.
The UK head office is Ageas House at Hampshire Corporate Park, Eastleigh, Hampshire, with branches reported in Bournemouth, Gloucester, London and Manchester. In 2025 Ageas UK completed its purchase of esure on 29 September 2025. esure said it would initially run as a separate business within Ageas UK and keep serving customers through its established brands. In December 2025 a partnership with Saga went live, with Ageas handling underwriting, pricing and claims for Saga's motor insurance while Saga keeps its brand and direct marketing. Home insurance sales for Saga were due to follow in the first quarter of 2026.
Ageas says it offers "Smart Working", meaning flexible locations and working hours, plus conversations about part-time, job-share or home working. It reports in-house technical training, classroom learning and on-the-job learning, and a wellbeing offer meant to be part of the culture. Its Ageas Stars awards give winners £1,000 and five extra days of holiday, and its Values in Practice awards recognise people who live the values. A broker marketing specialist featured on the site says "It's all about the people." These are company claims.
As an insurer working with brokers and brand partners, Ageas UK employs people in underwriting, pricing, claims, customer service, broker support and sales, marketing, technology, data and finance. The pages we read did not give a UK headcount, so ask about team sizes and where each team is based.
