Alliance Medical

An independent provider of MRI, CT and PET-CT scanning in the UK, serving both NHS and private patients through fixed sites and mobile scanners.

About Alliance Medical

Alliance Medical provides medical imaging, which means scans such as MRI, CT and PET-CT that help doctors find out what is wrong with a patient. In the UK it works for the NHS and for private patients, using both fixed scanning sites and mobile scanners that travel to hospitals.

We did not find a formal mission statement on its website. Its graduate prospectus lists its values as collaboration, excellence, efficiency, learning and openness, with putting patients first as the main one, and says it wants to help staff "reach your full potential". Its own history page describes it as a trusted and sustainable partner to the NHS.

Its history page says it was founded in 1989 to provide medical imaging in the UK and now has 46 static sites and 64 mobile scanners here, including several Community Diagnostic Centres such as Cannock, Clacton and Oxford. It also operates in other European countries.

The prospectus describes friendly, supportive teams and a happy, open and honest culture, with graduates who say they progressed quickly. These are the company's own claims. It holds Investors in People Gold accreditation (2023), according to its history page.

Its graduate scheme is aimed at people who have qualified as radiographers within the last year. Depending on your experience of cross-sectional imaging you join a one-year or two-year MRI/CT or PET-CT pathway, on a permanent contract. The prospectus mentions a £1,000 student loan contribution, five weeks' holiday and a pension. The prospectus is undated and job-board listings for 2026 graduate MRI radiographer roles exist, so check the current Alliance Medical careers site for dates, locations and pay.
