A London battery storage company that makes smart batteries, including units built from reused electric vehicle batteries.
Allye Energy makes battery storage systems that store electricity and release it when it is needed. Its products include the Allye MAX and MegaMAX ranges, which can run alongside a building's electricity supply or fully off-grid. It has worked on a portable energy system with Jaguar Land Rover made from repurposed Range Rover batteries. The batteries are managed in the cloud with software that learns how to extend their life. Its website says the range includes MAX300, MAX500, MAX1000 and MAX1500 units, used for EV charging, construction sites, film and TV production, data centres and power rental, and that more than 20 systems have been deployed. Its tagline is "First life on the road. Next life on the grid."
The company was co-founded by Jonathan Carrier, who is chief executive. He describes its aim as to "eliminate energy constraints through intelligent battery storage". Another company profile says it wants to be "an ally to the grid and consumer" and to lower bills, speed up the shift to net zero and balance people, planet and profit. Its stated approach is to start with factories, businesses and the high street before reaching homes.
Its website says every unit is designed, engineered and assembled in London at a 14,500 square foot facility, with over 90% UK-sourced components. A company profile lists its headquarters at Unit 30, Westwood Park, Concord Road, London W3, and gives its team as one to twenty employees. A 2023 interview said the business was built from scratch from March 2023 and was recruiting what it called world-class talent. Repeat customers named in a 2025 press report include Horizon Plant, OnBio and Roadchef, which shows its batteries are used on construction, bioenergy and roadside sites.
The same interview describes a culture built around freedom, empowerment and responsibility, guided by a simple rule to "use good judgment". This is the company's own description, so ask about it if you meet the team. Its About page explains the name: the "E" in Allye stands for energy, environment, electric, economy and everyone, which gives a clear picture of what the team says it works for. We found no further detail on offices or working patterns.
Roles in a battery storage company include electrical and battery engineers, software and data engineers working on digital twins and machine learning, project managers, installation and field service staff, and commercial teams. The pages we read did not give a founding year, so check its news for the latest picture.
