A consultancy founded in London in 2003 that advises asset management, wealth management and insurance firms. It recruits graduate associates in London.
Alpha FMC is a consultancy that helps banks and investment firms that look after other people's money. Its clients are asset managers, wealth managers and insurers, plus firms in areas such as private equity, private credit, real assets and infrastructure. Consultants help them decide on strategy, redesign how the firm runs day to day (the operating model), and deliver the data, digital and technology projects that make the changes real. Its graduate listing says it has worked for more than 970 clients worldwide.
Alpha FMC (the name is short for Alpha Financial Markets Consulting) was founded in London in 2003. We did not find the names of the founders in the sources we read. Its figures differ by page and date: one graduate listing says more than 1,000 consultants in 17 offices, while a newer employer profile says more than 1,540 consultants in 23 offices serving over 950 clients across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Its live graduate roles are all based in London.
We did not find a formal mission statement. The firm's employer profile says that "Alpha is built around its people" and stresses diversity, inclusion, community and making an impact from day one. These are the firm's own claims.
The work is project-based. A graduate listing says projects range from a few weeks to 18 months and cover strategy, operating model design, and data, digital and technology delivery. Consulting teams are split by area, including Asset and Wealth Management, Insurance, Technology, and Data, AI and Digital Engineering. Strategy and Deals is another team that takes graduates.
For young people, Alpha FMC runs graduate analyst routes (London, 2027 intake) in asset and wealth management consulting, technology consulting, insurance consulting and data, AI and digital engineering, plus a 2027 Insurance Consulting summer internship. The listings say a predicted or achieved 2:1 in any degree from any university, a September 2027 start and no finance degree or internship needed. Pay was listed at £40,000 base plus a discretionary profit share (as at October 2026). Training includes a two-week Alpha Analyst Training Programme (Excel, PowerPoint, consulting skills, financial modelling and stakeholder management) and funded support for qualifications such as the Investment Management Certificate. Listed benefits include 25 days' leave plus bank holidays and private medical cover. Deadlines in the listings run from 1 November to 31 December 2026 (rolling recruitment, so roles can close early), and the Strategy and Deals role closed on 18 October 2026. The firm calls its culture supportive, entrepreneurial and close-knit; that is its own description.
