Amphista Therapeutics

A Cambridge biotech, spun out of the University of Dundee, building medicines that remove disease-causing proteins from cells.

About Amphista Therapeutics

Amphista Therapeutics develops a type of medicine called targeted protein degraders. Instead of simply blocking a harmful protein, these medicines use the cell's own waste-disposal system to remove it. Its Eclipsys platform creates what it calls Targeted Glue medicines. Its lead, AMX-883, is aimed at a form of leukaemia, with trials planned for the second half of 2026.

The company says it wants to transform the lives of patients with severe diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Its careers page says employee-led values are at the core of what makes it a great place to work.

Amphista began as a spin-out from Professor Alessio Ciulli's lab at the University of Dundee, in Scotland. A March 2026 announcement is datelined Cambridge, UK, and its jobs have been listed in Cambridge. It was named one of Fierce Biotech's Fierce 15 in 2022.

In March 2026 Louise Modis became chief executive, after joining as chief scientific officer in 2023. That tells you scientists can progress to lead the company. Day-to-day culture beyond its values statement was not described.

We found no sourced graduate scheme or internship. The careers page says you can email a CV for future roles. Check current vacancies on the Amphista website.
