A London venture firm founded by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennstrom that backs European technology founders.
Atomico is a European venture capital firm founded in 2006 by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennstrom. It typically backs technology companies from Series A onwards and says it has helped build more than 100 companies, including Klarna, Supercell, Graphcore, Pipedrive and Hinge Health.
Atomico calls itself "built by founders for founders". One profile gives its aim as helping founders "take a product that works and make it a global success".
Atomico is based in Fitzrovia, London, and a London on-site investment associate role was listed in 2022. We did not find 2026 news in our search, so check Atomico's own site to confirm current activity.
The firm describes a "One Team" approach that brings together investors, operators and specialists, and says associates learn through hands-on work with on-the-job mentoring. Its team includes people with backgrounds at Skype, Google, Twitter and Uber. These are the company's own claims.
The role we saw asked for at least two years of experience, so it is not an entry-level route. We found no graduate scheme or internship, so the likely path is a few years in start-ups, consulting, finance or venture first (as at 2022).
