About AXA UK

AXA UK is the UK arm of the international AXA group. In the UK it sells car, home, landlord, business and van insurance, and through AXA Health it provides private medical insurance and wellbeing services. Its UK careers site groups the business into AXA Commercial, AXA Retail, AXA Health and support functions such as HR and IT. AXA describes Commercial as helping companies prosper now and in the future, Retail as helping customers get back to enjoying life, and Health as supporting people's personal growth.

The AXA UK careers site uses the headline "Move the world forward". AXA's wider careers pages describe the culture as "Care and Dare for progress". Care means listening to the needs of employees, clients and society, and Dare means questioning the norm and treating challenges as chances to learn. It lists four values: Customer first ("All our thinking starts with the customer"), Integrity, Courage and OneAXA.

AXA's UK offices page lists 25 locations: Ashburton, Birmingham, Bolton, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Chichester, Exeter, Glasgow, Gloucester, Haverhill, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, London, Maidstone, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Morecambe, Newcastle, Reading, Redhill, Watford Croxley, Southampton and Tunbridge Wells. Some sites are shared with other AXA brands such as AXA Health and Swiftcover. The careers page says there are offices in 35 locations nationwide, so the two pages differ and the exact number may depend on how sites are counted.

AXA says it runs regular Pulse surveys in 19 languages that reach more than 107,000 employees worldwide, to support a culture of fast feedback. Its culture pages also include a conversation with Liverpool Football Club's head coach and academy director about psychological safety and learning from mistakes. It also says it wants every employee to feel included, supported and heard, with equal access to opportunities and equitable pay. These are company claims. AXA UK's website reports that from January to December 2025 it paid out 98.4% of personal motor claims and 80.9% of home claims, which shows how central claims teams are to its work.

AXA UK employs people in many functions, including claims handling, customer service, underwriting, sales, health and wellbeing services, HR and IT. Its network of regional offices means that, unlike some insurers based in one city, you may find AXA roles in your own region. The AXA UK pages we read did not give a headcount, so ask about team sizes and locations when you apply.
