Baxter Healthcare UK

The UK arm of US healthcare company Baxter, with a manufacturing site in Thetford, Norfolk, a Newbury commercial office, a four-year engineering apprenticeship and a two-year graduate programme.

About Baxter Healthcare UK

Baxter makes and supplies hospital products including medicines given through a drip, renal (kidney) care and other products used in hospitals and at home. In the UK it manufactures at Thetford in Norfolk and supports NHS and private healthcare customers through teams in sales, marketing and market access.

Baxter's UK listings say its mission is "to save and sustain lives", and its graduate listing says "This is where you save and sustain lives." Those are company words.

Baxter's apprenticeship is based at Caxton Way, Thetford, and its graduate programme is based in Newbury, Berkshire, with three days a week on site. The graduate listing claims more than 50 years of UK presence.

Baxter describes a workplace where people are "happy, successful and inspire each other" and lists parental support, health and wellbeing benefits and two volunteer days a year. These are the company's own claims, so ask current staff.

The Engineering Apprenticeship (posted March 2025) is a four-year route to a Level 3 qualification: the first six months are full time at an engineering college, then one day a week at college and four shifts on site. It asks for GCSEs in maths, English and science at grade 4 or above. The Newbury graduate programme (2024 listing) lasted two years in four six-month placements, paid £33,000 and asked for a degree within two years and a full driving licence. Both listings are closed; check Baxter's careers site for current dates.
