A B Corp bike insurance specialist headquartered in Flintshire, protecting more than 80,000 riders across the UK and Europe.
Bikmo is a UK bike insurance company. It sells cover for road, mountain bike, triathlon and e-bike riders, including the rider, the bike and their kit. It also offers a bike app and a free bike theft heat map that combines police and population data to show where thefts are more likely in England and Wales. It says it protects more than 80,000 riders in the UK and Europe.
Its mission is to "protect the world's riders and the places we ride". Its site says it wants people to ride more and worry less. Bikmo has been a certified B Corp since 2019, which means an outside body has assessed its social and environmental performance. Its latest overall B Impact Score is 96.7, against a certification threshold of 80. It is also a member of 1% for the Planet.
The company was established in 2014. The B Corp directory lists its headquarters in Flintshire, Wales, and says it also operates in Ireland, France, Germany, Austria and Belgium; it has also had an office in Innsbruck, Austria. David George is its chief executive. At around 2020 a Welsh development bank release put the team at about 30 staff, described as bike fanatics, and a former Strava marketer joined as chief marketing officer. Partners include British Cycling, Cycling UK, Brompton, Deliveroo and the cycle-to-work provider Cyclescheme.
Bikmo says its team is made up of riders, from national champions to everyday commuters and cargo bikers. It introduced a four-day working week in 2024 and offers remote working and job shares for most roles. A careers-guide profile also lists flexible hours, equity, cycle-to-work and a mental health budget. These are the company's own claims, so ask about them directly.
Because many staff work remotely, the roles go beyond one location: customer service and claims, marketing and community, software and app development, pricing and data, and partnerships. If you love cycling and want a career that uses it, Bikmo is a clear example of an insurer built around one passion. We did not find a current headcount. The company says it also builds a bike app, so it employs people who understand both insurance rules and everyday cycling, which makes it a useful example of a small specialist firm with a clear purpose.
