Bloomberg

A financial data, software and news company founded in 1981, with its European headquarters in the City of London. It has London early-careers routes in analytics, news and engineering.

About Bloomberg

Bloomberg is best known for the Bloomberg Terminal, which gives finance professionals market data, analytics and a trading platform. It also runs Bloomberg News, a news agency, plus television, radio, websites and magazines. Wikipedia says it has about 26,000 employees and more than 160 offices, though its figures differ in places.

It was founded in 1981 by Michael Bloomberg with Thomas Secunda, Duncan MacMillan and Charles Zegar. Its head office is in Midtown Manhattan, New York. Bloomberg London is its European headquarters, at 3 Queen Victoria Street in the City of London, opened in October 2017 and housing 4,000 staff. The building won the 2018 RIBA Stirling Prize.

We did not find a formal mission statement in the sources we read.

The Terminal is used by traders, analysts and banks, and Bloomberg also provides data and analytics products built from financial and economic information.

For young people, a graduate jobs site lists a Graduate Software Engineer role and virtual information sessions on Customer Support, Analytics and News, and a student review describes a London analytics and sales internship with client contact. The pages give no requirements or dates, so check Bloomberg's careers site for current internships and graduate roles.
