The UK arm of global energy company bp, with offices in Sunbury, London, Aberdeen and other sites, and graduate programmes plus degree apprenticeships.
bp is an integrated energy company. It finds, produces and refines oil and gas, sells fuels and energy to customers, and invests in lower-carbon energy. In the UK its teams work in areas such as supply, trading and shipping, engineering, digital and data, people and culture, and business roles.
bp's graduate page says it operates at the centre of the global energy system and aims to deliver energy at scale while investing with discipline in the energy transition. Its UK careers pages use the line "reimagine energy for the planet and everyone on it" and mention "providing the energy the UK wants and needs".
bp's UK careers pages list sites in Aberdeen, Hull, Pangbourne, Swindon, Sunbury, Canary Wharf and Central London. Another page names Milton Keynes. bp says it has been in the UK for over 100 years and directly employed more than 15,000 people here in 2022 (a dated figure).
bp describes its culture as diverse and inclusive and says it values teamwork, respect and ambition as much as academic achievement. It also says early-career staff get real responsibility, and reports a 60:40 hybrid pattern (three office days a week) for most office roles. These are bp's own claims, so ask current graduates how it works in practice.
Routes in include business, science and digital graduate programmes. The business programme listed for a September 2027 start uses two or three rotations, a starting salary of £37,100 and a £3,000 sign-on bonus, and selection includes in-person Exploration Days. You can apply to only one bp early careers opportunity globally per academic year. bp also lists degree apprenticeships: one London (Canary Wharf) listing lasts four years, started in September 2026, asks for 104 UCAS points, GCSE English and maths at grade 4 and pays £32,000. We could not confirm full entry requirements for the graduate programmes.
