Bupa in the UK covers health insurance and also hands-on care. Its UK businesses include Bupa Dental Care practices (NHS and private), care homes (residential, nursing and dementia care), Bupa health centres offering assessments, private GP and physiotherapy, and Cromwell Hospital in London.
Bupa's focus is "helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives", and it says its ambition is to be the world's most customer-centric healthcare company. We did not find on the page we read whether it describes itself as not-for-profit.
Bupa's UK careers site lists work in care homes, dental practices, health clinics, call centres and head office. A February 2026 press release also mentions a £6m Clinical Training Academy in Staines, where oral health apprenticeships will take place in 2026. No UK headcount appeared on the pages we read.
Bupa says it welcomes people from any background and that apprentices get support to balance study and work. Its careers page says the main requirement is a passion for customers and care. Treat this as the company's own claim.
Apprenticeship routes on its careers page include trainee nursing associate, dental nurse, health care assistant (Level 2 Diploma in Care) and finance and customer service routes (some not open at the time we looked). It states no prior experience is needed, with few formal minimum qualifications, and a pass rate of over 80%. A February 2026 release says Bupa plans 900 apprenticeship places over three years, though that scheme is described for current employees. Check the careers site for live vacancies and pay.
