A London accountancy and advisory firm known for charity and not-for-profit work, with apprenticeships and trainee programmes in audit, tax and financial planning.
Buzzacott is an accountancy and advisory firm best known for working with charities and not-for-profit organisations, including international NGOs, arts organisations, membership bodies and social enterprises. It also looks after companies in areas such as financial services, media and technology, and private clients. Its core services are audit (checking accounts), tax, outsourcing and corporate finance, plus specialist teams in areas such as pensions and benefits, HR, investment and expat tax.
Accountancy Today's background page says Buzzacott was founded in 1919 by Fred Buzzacott, who had been a munitions accountant during the First World War. After a series of mergers in 1966, 1972 and 1978 the firm settled on the name Buzzacott and added charity and private client specialisms in the 1990s. Its head office is in London; the apprenticeship listing shows an EC2V postcode. The current CEO named on that page is Tony Hopson. A UK firm ranking showed around 600 employees at the time of that list. We did not find other offices.
We did not find a formal mission statement. Its early careers page says it wants trainees to contribute from the start and take on real responsibility, and highlights ambition, curiosity and making an impact.
Named work includes advising the estate agent Foxtons on several acquisitions, including Ludlow Thompson in 2023, and the corporate finance team advised on over 75 deals in the four years to 2023. In January 2024 it partnered with the HR consultancy Buck on a report. Its charity team is one of the firm's best-known areas.
Buzzacott says it won PQ Magazine's Best Graduate and Apprenticeship Training Programme in 2024 and ranked 30th in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2025; these are its own claims. Apprentices get a manager as a mentor and access to partners and senior colleagues. Routes are AAT apprenticeships (Levels 3 and 4 over 30 months) in three pathways: Charity and Not-for-Profit and Corporate Assurance lead on to the ACA, and Business Services leads on to the ACCA. Graduate programmes include ACA audit trainees, financial planning trainees and a tax trainee programme of 36 to 42 months. The firm says course and exam fees are covered and paid study leave is given before exams. The September 2026 apprenticeship listings closed in August 2026, so check the careers site for the next round, as entry requirements and pay were not listed on the pages we read.
