Care UK

A UK care home provider running over 260 homes in England, Wales and Scotland, with apprenticeships across care, catering and maintenance.

About Care UK

Care UK provides care for older people in its homes. This includes residential and nursing care, dementia care, respite and day care, and end-of-life care, tailored to each resident's needs, interests and wishes.

Care UK says it supports people to live "fulfilling lives". Its site says it has a vision and a set of values that its teams connect with, but the wording was not on the page we read.

It was established in 1982 and cares for over 16,000 families across more than 260 care homes in England, Wales and Scotland. It also has a Support Centre for head office roles. A headcount was not given.

The company holds a Stars Awards event for colleagues and says it puts learning and development at the centre of its apprenticeship work. These are its own statements. Examples include a property maintenance operative who gained a Level 2 apprenticeship with a distinction, and a colleague who joined in 2019 with no sector experience and is now a deputy manager.

Since 2017, more than 633 colleagues have enrolled on apprenticeships, with over 25 types covering care, the Chef Academy, marketing, leadership, and maintenance. Apprenticeships run in 86% of homes (as at February 2026). A separate graduate programme listing exists on TARGETjobs, but we did not read it. Pay and entry requirements were not found.
