About Castore

Castore is a British sportswear brand that makes performance clothing and team kit. Its range covers training wear and replica and match kit, and it has worked with sports as different as football, rugby, cricket, Formula 1, tennis and golf. Partners named in a 2026 Retail Gazette article include Rangers, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the McLaren Formula 1 Team, Oracle Red Bull Racing, Bath Rugby and the Red Roses, and athletes such as Sir Andy Murray and Matt Fitzpatrick have worn it. The brand has also stepped beyond sportswear, with a collaboration with Paul Smith and the purchase of the heritage brands Belstaff and Grenson, though the dates were not given.

Brothers Tom and Phil Beahon founded Castore, and the company marked ten years since launch in 2026 (one older report says 2015, so sources differ). Tom, a former youth player at Tranmere Rovers, worked in finance in London before moving back to Merseyside to build the brand. In an interview he said the early days meant sourcing products from factories in Portugal and pitching them to personal trainers outside gyms. The brand's slogan is "Better Never Stops", and Tom has said the founders wanted a premium sportswear brand that puts performance first without compromising on quality. The stated ambition is to become the world's leading premium sportswear brand. Tom describes his own values as humility, resilience and staying in control of your own destiny.

Castore is a Liverpool business. A February 2020 Retail Gazette report said the company's headquarters is in Liverpool and that the brothers grew up there. It opened a flagship on King's Road in Chelsea, London, then a store in Liverpool ONE in 2020, and a first Glasgow store was announced in 2021 with about 20 jobs expected. We could not confirm from the pages we read whether the Glasgow store opened, or how the head office is organised today.

On culture, the company's own message is about determination and constant improvement, and a trade article says its partnerships help it test and improve products, with a focus on lightweight materials, breathability, stretch and durability. Interviews describe a hands-on, driven founder-led business. In 2024 Tom was asked to join the UK Prime Minister's Business Council, which is a sign of how visible the brand has become. We found no detailed description of the day-to-day working environment, so treat the picture as the company's own story.

A sportswear brand needs many kinds of people: product designers and technical developers who choose fabrics and fits, buyers and supply-chain teams who manage the factories, marketing and partnerships staff who work with clubs and athletes, ecommerce and data teams for online sales, and store teams in the shops. If you love sport and are curious about how a shirt is designed, made and sold, Castore shows the whole journey in one business.
