Ceres Power

A Sussex clean technology company that develops fuel cell and electrolyser technology and licenses it to manufacturers worldwide.

About Ceres Power

Ceres Power develops solid oxide fuel cell and electrolyser technology. Fuel cells make electricity from fuels, and electrolysers make green hydrogen from electricity and water. Rather than making everything itself, Ceres licenses its technology to partners such as Doosan, Shell and Bosch. In April 2026 it launched a new stack platform called Ceres Endura.

Its history page has no formal mission statement. It says it has been perfecting its electrochemical technology since 2001 and aims to be a leading clean technology company with partners worldwide.

Ceres was founded in 2001 as a spin-out from Imperial College London. Its headquarters is in Horsham, West Sussex, with a pilot manufacturing plant in Redhill and a fuel cell test facility in the West Midlands. Mass production by a partner began in South Korea in July 2025. News on its site runs to September 2026.

A graduate job listing described a company with around 40 nationalities across six locations (company claim), and listed benefits including a pension contribution of up to 8% and 28 days annual leave.

Early careers are clearer here. A two-year engineering graduate programme starting September 2025 (Redhill or Horsham) asked for a master's-level engineering qualification and supported chartership with the IMechE (as at 2025). Level 4 engineering technician apprenticeship listings also appeared in search. Check its careers site for the current intake.
