The UK arm of CEVA Logistics, a global contract logistics and freight management company owned by French shipping group CMA CGM, with offices in Bristol, Derby and Leicestershire.
CEVA Logistics is a global supply chain company, and its UK business runs contract logistics and freight management for large and mid-sized UK and international companies, according to a jobs-site profile. Contract logistics means running warehouses and distribution for other businesses. Freight management means arranging the movement of goods by air, sea, road and rail. CEVA's owner, the French shipping group CMA CGM, gives it a link to container shipping, which the profile says lets it offer end-to-end logistics from factory to customer.
CEVA's roots go back to 1946, when Ken Thomas started Thomas Nationwide Transport (TNT) in Australia with a single truck. The CEVA name arrived in 2006 after TNT's logistics division was sold and renamed. In 2019 CMA CGM took full ownership, and CEVA has since added businesses including GEFCO in 2022 and Bolloré Logistics in 2024. Mathieu Friedberg became chief executive in January 2020, and CEVA's history page says Patrick Moebel was appointed chief executive in July 2026. We did not find a mission or values statement in the pages we read.
CEVA says it has more than 110,000 employees across 1,700 sites in more than 170 countries (a jobs-site profile gives 98,000 employees and over 1,000 facilities, so counts differ). In the UK, the jobs-site profile lists offices in Bristol, Derby and North West Leicestershire. Companies House search results show several UK-registered CEVA companies, including CEVA Freight (UK) Limited, CEVA Logistics Forwarding UK Limited, CEVA Ground Logistics UK Limited and CEVA Network Logistics Limited, which suggests UK operations in freight forwarding, ground transport and contract logistics. We did not read a CEVA UK page, so the full list of UK sites is not confirmed.
We did not find culture information, staff stories or UK leadership names for CEVA, so we cannot describe what working life is like. The jobs-site profile did not list current vacancies. In 2024 the UK press reported that CEVA's parent had made a bid for Wincanton, which was beaten by GXO, so CEVA remains a smaller player than some UK rivals in contract logistics.
Roles in a company like this range widely. Operations staff arrange and track shipments, customer service teams solve problems, warehouse operatives and supervisors run sites, transport planners schedule vehicles, and specialists handle customs paperwork. Sales, finance, IT, health and safety and human resources teams support the rest. If you like organising, working with international customers or practical hands-on operations, this is a sector with a lot of variety. CEVA's global careers site lists current UK vacancies.
