A UK independent hospital group with over 50 hospitals, formed through Circle and the former BMI Healthcare, with a large apprenticeship programme.
Circle Health Group is an independent UK private hospital provider. It runs 54 hospitals with over 2,000 beds and over 150 theatres, offering more than 60 specialties and over 500 treatments, from planned surgery to rehabilitation.
Its About page gives its purpose as providing "high quality, safe and compassionate care our patients need and expect." Its four values are being selfless and compassionate, collaborative and committed, agile and brave, and tenacious and creative.
Circle was founded in 2004 and grew by building hospitals, joint ventures and acquiring Nations Healthcare and BMI Healthcare. Its hospitals are grouped into North and Scotland, London and South East, and Central and South West England. It also has clinics in China, but this page focuses on UK roles. The About page says over 6,500 consultants and about 10,000 employees work with the group; an older careers page says over 8,200 employees, so figures differ by page.
Its careers site says patients come first and that the organisation invests in its people. These are its own statements.
A trade magazine article (after December 2023) says Circle founded its apprenticeship programme in 2017 and trained almost 300 apprentices in the latest year reported, with Teesside University and Liverpool John Moores University as partners. Routes run from Level 2 to Level 7 across clinical and admin roles, for example from porter to theatre manager. We found no graduate scheme details on its careers page.
