Condé Nast Britain

The British arm of Condé Nast, publisher of Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Tatler, Wired and Condé Nast Traveller.

About Condé Nast Britain

Condé Nast Britain is the UK arm of the global magazine publisher Condé Nast. Its portfolio includes British Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Wired, Architectural Digest, Condé Nast Traveller and La Cucina Italiana, according to a Creative Access profile, and Tatler was also housed at its London offices. It publishes in print and online, and Vogue has moved to 10 print issues a year.

The Creative Access profile gives its purpose as "We are here to entertain, surprise, and empower". It says the company offers exclusive access, is trusted to lead the way in its field, and works with world-leading talent. These are the company's own claims. We did not find a longer mission statement in the pages we read, so check the official website.

In the UK, Condé Nast was based at Vogue House on Hanover Square in London's West End from 1958, a seven-storey building closely tied to the fashion industry, designed by Yates, Cook and Darbyshire and completed in 1958. Former chairman Nicholas Coleridge compared the departure to "the ravens leaving the Tower of London". GQ and Tatler were also based there. The company said there were "just too many challenges" to meet its needs there, and in January 2024 it was due to move to the Adelphi building on the Embankment beside the Thames. The Adelphi is also a historic building. The company is privately owned. We could not confirm from sources whether the move is complete, or the staff headcount. The Vogue House building was sold in January 2024 to Global Holdings Group. The wider Condé Nast portfolio listed in the profile also includes The New Yorker, so the British arm is part of an international family of titles.

Magazine teams include editors, fashion and features writers, stylists, photographers, art directors, video producers, social media teams, and commercial teams who work with advertisers. Behind them are events, marketing, finance, legal, technology and human resources staff. These are typical functions for a publisher of this kind, not a list from the company itself.

Because these brands are so visible, a good starting point is following their social channels and websites to see how print stories become video, podcasts and events. Check Condé Nast Britain's own site for current information.
