The UK arm of Crawford & Company, a global claims management and loss adjusting group, offering loss adjusting, claims administration and managed repair to UK insurers and businesses.
Crawford & Company UK is a claims management and loss adjusting firm. Its UK site lists loss adjusting, major and complex loss, third-party administration (TPA), managed repair and catastrophe response, plus 24/7 claims intake and services for motor, property and subsidence claims. It also offers surveying, building consultancy, cyber risk, counter fraud, forensic accounting, and environmental and ecology work.
It serves insurance carriers, brokers, corporates and the London Market, and works in sectors including agriculture, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, marine and the public sector. It says it has the largest UK network of adjusters specialising in agricultural and rural claims. Named tools include Connect+ for customer updates, SubSprint, Claims Manager (a TPA platform) and YouGoLook, a self-service app for policyholders.
Crawford began in 1941, when Jim Crawford opened its first office in Columbus, Georgia. Its history page says the London office started Crawford's international expansion, and that the later purchase of Specialist Liability Services helped it serve the Lloyd's and London market. A 2016 article put 27 Crawford offices in the UK, with Clive Nicholls as chief executive for the UK and Ireland, and a 2007 article records a larger Cardiff office opened to meet growing demand for its liability, property and subsidence work in Wales. Those are dated, and the current office list is not shown on the pages we read.
The company states its purpose as restoring and enhancing lives, businesses and communities. Its values put honesty and integrity first, then putting people first and delivering high-quality service, and its UK site describes "a relentless focus on people and the innovative tools that empower them". At its 85th anniversary in 2026 the global CEO spoke of the trust clients place in it and the responsibility that comes with it. The group has nearly 9,000 to 10,000 employees in around 70 countries.
Job listings show roles in the UK including liability and TPA claims handlers (for example in Milton Keynes), commercial and domestic loss adjusters in regional areas such as the Midlands and the North West, construction loss adjusters, subsidence consultants and supervisors in its CFAS team. Claims is a hands-on career where you meet people when they most need help, and it covers technical, legal, engineering and customer-service skills.
