Curve Games

A London indie games publisher, founded in 2005, behind Human Fall Flat, OlliOlli and The Ascent.

About Curve Games

Curve Games is a British video game publisher based in London. It focuses on indie games and has published titles including Thomas Was Alone, OlliOlli, Human: Fall Flat, Bomber Crew, For the King, The Ascent and Lawn Mowing Simulator. Many of these started as small games from tiny teams. Its names include games with very different looks, from the puzzle platformer Thomas Was Alone to the cyberpunk shooter The Ascent.

The company was founded in 2005 by Jason Perkins. It was first a developer, known then as Blue52, and moved into publishing in 2013. In 2021 it rebranded to show a commitment to better supporting developers. It describes itself as a pioneer of developer-focused publishing, and says it brings together top talent to create, shape and promote games for players around the world. In 2016 Catalis Group bought the company, and in 2019 Catalis was sold to NorthEdge Capital, so the team has seen several owners while keeping its name and London base.

Its headquarters is in London, and a careers-style profile lists about 60 employees. The group also owned studios, including Runner Duck (bought in 2019) and IronOak Games (2020). In May 2025 the Indian company Nazara Technologies acquired Curve Games and its studios, and it is still called Curve Games. The profile describes it as "a very unique organisation, going through an extraordinary transformation".

Stuart Dinsey is chief executive and Bradley Crooks is chief operating officer. We did not find a values statement or detail about daily culture on the pages we read, so ask about the way the team works if you meet them. The reference to "fintech" on one profile is a mistake in that listing, not part of Curve Games' work.

A publisher employs people in production, marketing, community, PR, business development, finance and operations, as well as support for the studios it works with. If you enjoy games and want to work with many different teams, publishing is a good way to see the whole industry. It also gives indie developers marketing and release help, which means staff talk to creators about their games every day. A good way to prepare is to play lots of indie games, follow how they are launched and promoted, and try writing or making short videos about them. Skills in communication, organisation, social media and spotting what players enjoy are all useful for a publisher like this.
