An Edinburgh-area drone inspection and survey company that gathers data on energy and industrial sites and manages it in its iHawk software.
Cyberhawk uses drones to inspect and survey energy infrastructure and large construction projects, such as electricity networks and offshore wind turbines. Its cloud-based platform, iHawk, brings together images, location data and AI-assisted analysis so engineers can see the state of an asset without climbing it. It also offers iHawk as a Service, a central record of inspections. A job listing says its pilots gather data so engineers can make safety-critical maintenance decisions.
In its own words, the company aims to make asset and project management safer, easier and greener. Chief executive Chris Fleming has described its customer relationships as built on "value and trust".
Cyberhawk's UK work covers Britain's electricity transmission and distribution networks and offshore wind assets. The company has worked with SSE for more than a decade, following two five-year contracts. In October 2026 it announced a new multi-year agreement with SSE, which it describes as its third long-term agreement with that customer, so it is clearly active. It is now a subsidiary of Ondas but still trades as Cyberhawk (ACQUIRED: by Ondas). A job listing for trainee pilots placed the role in Edinburgh, and pilots travel to sites across the UK.
A 2024 listing describes a "no drama way of working", one team that shares knowledge, and an emphasis on honest communication, mutual respect and fun, with regular social events and quarterly team-building. Pilots usually work in pairs in remote outdoor places, acting as Pilot in Command, following pre- and post-flight procedures, logging operations and helping prepare risk assessments and equipment. It claims benefits such as 30 days of leave, hybrid working and a cycle-to-work scheme. The listing claims top pilots earn over £50,000 a year. These are the company's own claims.
Early careers are well signposted. In 2024 (as at 2024, closed 27 March) it advertised a Trainee UAS Pilot role in Edinburgh, with a base salary of £24,000 rising to £27,000 after initial training, plus field allowances. It asked for good hand-eye coordination, a desire to learn and a full UK driving licence; drone experience was a bonus. A Graduate Inspection Engineer role in Edinburgh was also listed for 2024. Hybrid working is listed as a benefit, and pilots receive accommodation and meal allowances while travelling. Be ready for long periods away from home, and check the Cyberhawk site for current openings.
