An independent London media group publishing Dazed, AnOther and Nowness and making campaigns for brands through Dazed Studio.

About Dazed Media

Dazed Media is an independent media group that publishes on youth culture, fashion, music, film and art. Its brands include Dazed, the quarterly print magazine and website, AnOther Magazine, Another Man and the video brand Nowness. A newer division, Dazed Studio, creates campaigns for fashion, luxury and lifestyle clients. Dazed began as a black-and-white folded poster promoted at London club nights, and later became a full-colour magazine. It covers music, fashion, film, art and literature, with editors including Rod Stanley, Isabella Burley and Ibrahim Kamara in its past.

The company has no formal mission statement that we found, but its co-founder and chief executive Jefferson Hack has said he believes everyone is creative and that nurturing creativity gives life and culture meaning. He has argued for affordable space for creatives in London and supported the Keep London Creative campaign. Dazed describes itself as a platform for young people and new talent.

Dazed Media is based in London. Hack set up its offices in East London before the area became a creative hub. Jefferson Hack and the photographer Rankin started Dazed & Confused in 1991 as students at the London College of Printing, and it became Dazed in 2014. The company has launched international editions, including Dazed MENA in 2024.

The magazine's history shows the creative culture it is known for. Radiohead premiered OK Computer at a Dazed & Confused Live event in 1996, and the designer Alexander McQueen guest-edited an issue in 1998. Editors-in-chief have changed over the years, with Ted Stansfield taking over in 2025. These are company and press accounts, so treat them as its own story. Hack names the singer Bjork as the magazine's 'patron saint', and in 1998 he and Rankin took over Channel 4 for a night. Dazed Beauty launched in 2018 as a community focused on how beauty is discussed. Hack also says print is far from dead and has encouraged new independent magazine launches.

A media group like this employs editors, writers, fashion and art directors, photographers, video producers, social and audience teams, and the commercial and production people who make branded campaigns. Its careers pages were not read, so check its website for current roles.
