de Novo Solutions

A Newport, Wales technology consultancy specialising in Oracle Cloud and ServiceNow.

About de Novo Solutions

de Novo Solutions is a technology consultancy that helps organisations set up and run business software from two big providers, Oracle Cloud (systems for areas such as HR, finance, buying and payroll) and ServiceNow (a platform for managing workflows, requests and services). Think of it as the specialist team that installs and tunes these systems so that the people using them find them easier. It works with public and private sector clients, and our earlier source names the Ministry of Justice, ITV and Ofgem.

It launched in 2021 and is headquartered in Langstone, Newport, Wales. Chief executive Mark Sweeny and chairman Tim Warner co-founded it after building Certus Solutions in 2007 and selling it to Accenture in 2018. Certus was an early Oracle Fusion partner and had public sector clients. Sweeny has said de Novo is “not about recreating Certus”. The firm opened an office in India in March 2025, and Sweeny says Wales remains its home despite expansion into England and India. We did not find how many people it employs.

We did not find a formal mission statement. Press coverage says it aims to build a lasting British company, help rebuild the economy and create sustainable jobs in UK tech, and Warner has said the goal is to become “one of the very best systems integrators in the experience economy” (a systems integrator is a firm that joins different software systems together for a client). Sweeny has criticised firms that “race to the bottom of the rate card”, and the founders have talked about commercial models where part of the fee depends on the value delivered.

Named offerings in a Welsh business magazine are Odyssea industry cloud solutions, Value as a Service managed services (ongoing support after a system goes live), and Testing as a Service. The firm holds partner status with both Oracle and ServiceNow. It sponsors local grassroots football teams and supports SARDA Wales, the National Search and Rescue Dog Association, and was shortlisted for a St David Award in the business category.

For young people, this is the most useful part: the magazine says de Novo runs a Graduate and Apprenticeship Scheme with the Welsh Government and the University of South Wales, aimed at starting young people in tech careers, plus a separate Next Gen Scheme focused on practical life skills. We did not find entry requirements, pay, dates or the roles involved, and the source is the company's own account, so ask de Novo or the University of South Wales for current details. Other roles in a firm like this tend to be consultants, testers and technical specialists, but we did not find a published job list.
