Dexory

A London and Oxford robotics company whose autonomous robots scan warehouse shelves and turn what they see into live stock information.

About Dexory

Dexory builds robots that roam warehouses on their own, scanning the shelves and pallets as they go. The information they collect is sent to DexoryView, a software platform the company calls a digital twin. A digital twin is a live computer copy of a real place, so a warehouse manager can see what is stored where, spot mistakes and plan the day without walking the aisles with a clipboard. The company says its platform has three parts, called Integrity, Optimize and Adapt, and serves areas such as third-party logistics, retail and online fulfilment, manufacturing, food and drink, pharmaceuticals and air cargo.

The company was started in 2015 by Andrei Danescu, Adrian Negoita and Oana Jinga under the name BotsAndUs. Its first autonomous robots went to work in retail and travel in 2017. Customers in logistics then asked for the same ability, so the team moved into warehouses in 2021 and changed its name to Dexory in November 2022. Its own words for the mission are: "We're on a mission to uncover intelligence through technology that empowers businesses to optimize, predict and grow." Its vision is to help companies run warehouses with high productivity and accuracy.

Dexory's UK roots are in London and Oxford, and both locations are named in a recruitment profile from the CTP RightJob site. One co-founder's biography describes the firm as based in Central London. Its main web page also lists a United States base in Nashville, Tennessee, so Dexory works across more than one country. The robots are built and tested in the UK, and the company has won awards in the logistics industry, including a Warehouse Innovation Award at the Robotics Automation Awards in 2023, according to that profile.

The company describes itself as a collaborative and innovative place to work with an inclusive approach. According to the same profile, it runs employee resource groups, diversity training and mentoring, and it has taken part in The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge. It also says it actively recruits people who have left the armed forces, because of their discipline and teamwork. Its own site says it has a culture that demands high performance and removes barriers to innovation. These are the company's own descriptions, and we have not checked them independently.

Because Dexory makes both machines and software, it employs a wide mix of people. The roles named in its recruitment profile include assembly and build technicians, electrical technicians and engineers, production engineers, and deployment engineers who work with customers on site. Alongside them are software engineers, designers, customer success staff, and the commercial and finance teams that support a growing business. People who enjoy robotics, computing, electronics or logistics, or who like solving practical problems, will find a lot to explore here. The profile says the team grew from 15 to over 100 people in one year, but that figure is dated, so check the company site for its current size.
