A London-headquartered marketing technology company whose platform helps brands send personalised email, SMS, WhatsApp and other messages to their customers.
Dotdigital builds software that helps marketing teams talk to their customers well. Its platform brings customer information together in one place, sorts people into useful groups, and uses AI to automate personalised messages across email, SMS, WhatsApp, web chat, push notifications, social media and ads. It describes itself as a customer experience and data platform, and says it serves more than 4,000 brands in areas such as online retail, charities, education and financial services.
The company's own careers page describes a shared vision of helping brands exceed what their customers expect, through responsible marketing. It lists its guiding ideas as innovation, teamwork and client-focused solutions, with a growth mindset and ownership of your own work. We did not find a separate formal mission statement, so this is the closest wording available.
Dotdigital began in 1999 in Croydon, first as a web design business called Ellipsis Media and later under the name dotmailer, before rebranding as Dotdigital in 2019. Its headquarters are at London Bridge in London. A jobs-board profile lists further UK offices in Cheltenham and Manchester, and the company also has offices overseas. Its company history shows an early project in 2002 building a mail service for the BBC, and its tools include forms and surveys, a drag-and-drop builder for automated customer journeys, and links to systems such as Salesforce and Magento. Public sources name BP and ODEON among its customers. It is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, and the profile gives a headcount of roughly 395 people.
The company says it began in a pub in Croydon, and that the original tables and stools now sit in its London Bridge office. Staff call themselves the "dotfamily". The company says it works in a hybrid way, mixing office and home working, and lists benefits such as parental leave, wellbeing days, a "Dotdigital day" and a share reward. These are the company's own claims, so ask about them at interview.
People work in many different functions. Current job adverts show roles in global marketing campaigns, product expertise and customer support, customer success, and marketing strategy, as well as the engineering and sales teams you would expect at a software company. The hiring process described in one advert includes a short screening call, a conversation with the hiring team, a practical set task and a final interview. The company says it does not accept applications from agencies or recruiters, so apply directly.
