Ebiquity

A London-headquartered independent media and marketing consultancy that helps big advertisers get better value from their advertising.

About Ebiquity

Ebiquity is a consultancy that checks and improves how companies spend money on advertising. Instead of making adverts or buying space for brands, it gives independent advice, which it describes as evidence-based. Its work is grouped under Transform (such as choosing and managing agencies), Govern (checking digital media deals and contracts) and Grow (measuring marketing effectiveness with tools like marketing mix modelling).

The company began as Thomson Intermedia, founded in 1997 by Sarah-Jane and Steve Thomson to build a database of UK advertising. It listed on the AIM market in 2000 and became Ebiquity in 2008. It grew by joining with other specialist firms, including Billetts in 2005 and later companies in digital media governance and research, such as FirmDecisions and Echo Research. Today it says it works with more than 75 of the top 100 global advertisers, and has about 650 media experts across 19 countries. Ruben Schreurs became chief executive in November 2024. Other leaders include chief operating officer Mark Gay and chairman Rob Woodward. Wikipedia lists 18 offices in 14 major advertising markets, including London, Paris, Madrid, New York, Sydney, Shanghai and Singapore.

Ebiquity is headquartered in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange. The site mentions teams across the UK and globally, but we did not find exact UK office addresses on the pages we read. In June 2025 Consultancy.co.uk placed it at Silver status in a list of top UK media consulting firms, which Ebiquity says it did not pay for. Ebiquity also publishes advertising research and guides, including a Paid Media Effectiveness Handbook.

Ebiquity stresses independence from the media industry. It publishes a Statement of Independence and a Code of Conduct, and promotes what it calls effective and responsible advertising. Recent research has included the Profit Ability 2 effectiveness study and a Total TV study with ISBA, the advertisers' body. Those are the company's own descriptions of its work, so ask staff what working there is really like.

People at Ebiquity work as consultants, analysts, data specialists, researchers and technologists, with others in client service and finance. It suits someone who enjoys numbers and wants to ask whether advertising actually works. Entry routes are not covered here, so check its own pages.
