Ebury

A London-founded fintech that helps businesses make international payments and manage currency risk. It is majority-owned by Santander and has offices across the world.

About Ebury

Ebury helps businesses that buy or sell across borders. Its platform covers international payments, business accounts, currency hedging (protecting against exchange-rate swings), financing and tools that connect to a company's own systems. It says it processed more than 1.9 million payments for over 25,000 clients in 2025.

Ebury was founded in London in 2009 by Juan Lobato and Salvador García Andres. Banco Santander became a majority investor between 2019 and 2022. Ebury says it has more than 50 offices and is regulated in over 30 markets, with 2,000-plus employees, although its own page gives two slightly different headcounts. It has grown by opening offices and by acquisitions, including firms in Brazil, Mexico, the UAE and South Africa in 2023.

Its stated mission is "empowering businesses to unlock their global ambitions".

For young people, Ebury is a way into international finance, with roles in sales, treasury, operations, compliance and technology. We did not confirm UK early-careers programmes or the current location of its headquarters from the pages we read, so check its careers page.
