The London arm of Edelman, a global communications firm that helps organisations build and protect their reputations.
Edelman is a global communications firm. Its own website describes it as a firm that "partners with businesses and organizations to evolve, promote and protect their brands and reputations". In plain terms, its teams help companies and other organisations decide what to say, who to say it to and how to earn people's trust, using media relations, corporate affairs, brand work and research. It is also known for the Edelman Trust Barometer, an annual study of how much people trust business, government, media and other institutions, with a 2026 edition on workplace trust promoted on its site.
The firm says its work helps organisations "establish the trust, credibility and resonance that defines reputation and fuels growth". Trust is the idea that runs through almost everything it publishes. On independence, its chief executive Richard Edelman has written that the firm stayed private and independent and found a way forward through "constant innovation and reinvention". We did not find a separate, formal list of values on the pages we read.
The UK office is in central London at Francis House, 11 Francis Street, London SW1P 1DE, and the firm's EMEA page lists Julian Payne as the London chief executive. A 2023 blog by Richard Edelman traces the UK office back to a small start in Albemarle Street, through a period as one of the top five UK players in the 1970s, to a move into a renovated old warehouse after its previous offices were due for demolition. He says the UK office ranks second in the UK market behind Brunswick and leads four of the firm's largest client relationships. Those are the firm's own claims.
The same blog describes an entrepreneurial culture where "everyone feels like an owner, able to bring forward ideas, empowered to act". It names UK leaders of the time, including Ruth Warder, and mentions Amanda Edelman, who leads a Gen-Z lab and works on the Starbucks Europe business. The careers section of the main site says "bold thinking is encouraged, curiosity is celebrated". Treat these as the company's own descriptions.
Typical roles in a London communications office include account executives and managers, directors who lead client teams, corporate and brand specialists, and researchers and strategists. London job listings on Built In London include associate director, senior account manager (corporate brand) and account director positions. For a student, the useful skills to build early are clear writing, curiosity about how organisations are seen, and comfort working with people in teams and with clients.
