EDF frames its early careers pages around helping Britain reach net zero. It calls itself "Britain's biggest generator of zero carbon electricity" and uses the line "success is personal" for its early careers approach.
Current industrial placement listings are in Morecambe, Leiston, Dunbar and Bridgwater, and stories mention Hove and Doxford. A 2027 STEM graduate programme is based mainly at Hinkley Point C, with placements possible in Bridgwater and Bristol Aztec West.
EDF says it is a Disability Confident employer, uses anonymous recruitment for many roles and was ranked in the top 10 employers for energy and utilities by university students for the second year running. These are EDF's own claims.
The STEM graduate programme lasts two years with placements across the nuclear business, asks for a STEM degree (some other sciences considered), pays £37,500 a year and starts in September 2027; it needs security vetting, usually three years of UK residence in the last five. Applications closed on 29 September 2026. Industrial placements last 12 months. Virtual work experience is open to UK residents aged 14 and over. The selection process includes an online application, an online test, a one-way video interview and an assessment centre. We found no apprenticeship lengths or pay.
