A London-headquartered British premium skincare brand founded in 1989, known for pairing nature and science, with an office in Bristol and a B Corp certification.
Elemis makes premium skincare. It describes its approach as bringing together nature and science, using botanical extracts with advanced formulations to get results without losing the sensory experience of using the products. Its products are sold in the UK and around the world, in shops, online and in spas. One list calls it the number one luxury British skincare brand and a certified B Corp, which is a certification for businesses that meet social and environmental standards. The B Corp claim comes from a recruitment site and is not something we have checked.
Elemis launched in 1989. Linda Steiner founded it, and Noella Gabriel, Sean Harrington and Oriele Frank later became co-founders. In 2020 it was acquired by the L'Occitane Group, and in the same year the leadership changed: Mr Harrington became chief executive and joined the L'Occitane International Board, Ms Gabriel became global president, overseeing the US, UK and Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Ms Frank became chief product and sustainability officer. Ms Frank had earlier been the UK managing director. A 2020 trade article gave the company's ambition as becoming the number one British premium skincare brand in the world.
A recruitment site lists Elemis as headquartered in London, with a second office in Bristol, and gives a headcount of 718 employees. That figure is from a third-party listing and has no date, so treat it as a rough guide. We did not find an official address on any page we read. The brand also describes itself as a British brand, and its executive team has included a UK managing director.
On sustainability, a 2020 article says the leadership team was building a sustainability and corporate social responsibility plan with a circular model that reinvests in products, the planet, people and philanthropic causes. Its stated priorities include science, respect for nature, ocean preservation, and health and wellness. We did not find a culture or values page, or staff accounts, so we cannot describe working life in detail. The company's own claims should be read with that in mind.
A skincare brand like this needs scientists and product developers, packaging and sustainability specialists, marketing and brand teams, spa and retail trainers, sales and account managers, supply-chain and finance staff, and customer service. If you like chemistry, biology, design or business, there are options across those areas. Look at the company's own website and its parent's site for current roles.
