About Finastra

Finastra is a British financial software company. You will never see its name on your bank card, but the software it makes helps banks run behind the scenes: customer accounts, loans, payments and trading. Finastra says it serves around 7,000 customers worldwide, including 80% of the world's top 50 banks.

The business has a long history. Misys was founded in 1970 by Roger Morgan and Kevin Lomax to make software for insurers, and grew through dozens of acquisitions. In 2017 Misys merged with the Canadian company D+H and the combined business was renamed Finastra. It is headquartered in London and owned by the private equity firm Vista Equity Partners. In February 2026 its treasury and capital markets business was sold to Apax Partners and became a separate company called Teciem.

Finastra's solutions fall into three areas: lending and corporate banking, payments, and universal banking. It describes its theme as "Innovating Finance Together" and says it wants to give banks flexible tools so they can change how they operate.

For young people, Finastra's website has an early-careers section alongside pages on skills and AI careers. The pages we read do not describe specific graduate programmes, eligibility or UK locations beyond the London headquarters, so check its careers page for what is open now.
