Fixflo

A UK repairs-reporting software company, launched in 2013 and now part of the Aareon group, that helps lettings agents and landlords handle maintenance for rented homes.

About Fixflo

Fixflo makes software for reporting and managing repairs in rented property. When a tenant spots a problem such as a leak, they can report it through the system; the agent or landlord can then organise a contractor, follow the job to completion and keep a record. The company calls it "market-leading and market standard repair reporting software for lettings agents". Its products include reactive repair reporting, workflow management, planned preventative maintenance, dashboards, two AI tools called Aidenn (for repairs and maintenance, and for compliance) and a contractor marketplace. It serves lettings, block management, build-to-rent, social housing and student accommodation.

Fixflo launched in May 2013. It was founded by Rajeev Nayyar, a former property lawyer, and Duncan Careless, who had been chief technology officer at Friends Reunited. According to the company's history page, the idea came to Mr Nayyar when he was a tenant and also a long-distance landlord, so he knew how frustrating it is to get repairs done from both sides. The page states no formal mission or values; its closest statement is "We're fixing repairs and maintenance management." We have not invented more.

Fixflo's registered address is in Bournemouth, on the south coast of England. The page does not describe offices, so we cannot say where its teams sit day to day. The logo on its site is labelled "Aareon Fixflo", and a news report headlined that a German property software company had bought it, so it is now part of the Aareon group but continues to trade under the Fixflo name. In November 2021 it was named Professional Services Provider of the Year at the Property Manager Awards, according to its history page.

We found no description of the culture or day-to-day working life, and no staff numbers. The history page has a Working at Fixflo section that links to vacancies, so it does recruit. As a small software company, it is likely to have close working relationships between engineers, support staff and customers, but that is our inference, not a claim by the company.

The roles that a repairs-software company needs include software developers, product designers, customer support and onboarding specialists, who help agencies get started, account managers, and sales and marketing staff. People who understand property maintenance, compliance and the law on housing standards are also valuable. If you like the idea of working on practical problems that affect where people live, Fixflo shows how a simple idea from one person's experience as a tenant became a software product used across the sector.
