About Flutter UK&I

Flutter UK and Ireland is the part of the Flutter group that serves customers in Britain and Ireland. Its brands include Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo, as well as Betfair and Paddy Power. It runs online sports betting and gaming, and includes the Betfair exchange, where customers bet against each other rather than against the company. The group says its brands also include Sky Bingo and Sky Casino, and Flutter keeps the Sky name under licence from Sky Limited.

Sky Bet traces back to Sky's purchase of Sports Internet Group in 2000, and it kept the Sky name under licence after Flutter acquired it in 2020. We did not find a formal Flutter UK&I mission statement. The chief commercial officer of Sky Betting & Gaming has said "We want to do the right thing for customers. We want to do the right thing for staff", and has described football as the company's DNA.

Leeds is the centre of the UK operation. In 2021 Flutter opened a hub at 4 Wellington Place, Leeds Dock, covering about 136,000 square feet over eight floors, with plans to house about 1,700 people including more than 800 technology staff. A later interview put the Leeds team at around 1,800, its largest office in Europe. A job listing also places Sky Betting & Gaming offices in Solihull. The group also has a major Dublin presence, in Ireland. A self-funded Kickstart scheme and the Sky Betting & Gaming Skills Academy are based at the Leeds site, according to the opening coverage.

The Leeds building has a BREEAM Excellent rating, break-out furniture made from recycled materials, and top floors set aside for social activity. Leaders describe it as a "modern, agile and flexible workspace" and credit a "talented and highly skilled workforce". Staff volunteer days and choose a charity each year for a fundraising gala, which raised £253,000 last year for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund. The company also funds football community projects through English Football League clubs, with at least £1 million a year over six years.

Roles span software engineering, data and analytics, product, design, research and insights, risk and safer gambling, marketing and customer teams. Because it is based in Leeds rather than only in London, it is one of the larger digital employers in the North of England. Students interested in technology or data can see how those skills are applied to a fast-moving consumer business. Check each role carefully, as betting is age-restricted and some jobs may have extra requirements.
