A global advisory firm helping organisations through crisis and change, with London graduate schemes in economic and financial consulting and strategic communications.
FTI Consulting is a global expert firm that advises organisations facing crisis and transformation. In plain terms, when a company is in a legal dispute, being investigated, going through a big change or dealing with a new regulation, FTI sends in specialists in economics, finance, law-related analysis, technology and communications to help. Clients include corporations, law firms, banks, governments and private equity firms.
Wikipedia and FTI's own history page say it was founded in 1982 as Forensic Technologies International by Dan Luczak and Joseph Reynolds in a small warehouse in Annapolis, Maryland. It began by supporting lawyers in complex court cases, changed its name to FTI Consulting in 1998 and grew through acquisitions, including the London communications firm Financial Dynamics in 2006. Its headquarters are in Washington, D.C. FTI says it now has more than 8,100 employees in 32 countries and territories (own figures).
We did not find a formal mission statement. FTI's history page says it aims to help organisations in their most important times, and the graduate listing describes an “open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development”.
The UK graduate route we found is in Economic and Financial Consulting in London. Teams cover Valuation, Disputes and Arbitration (including data and economics and capital markets work) and Economic Regulation, advising regulators and regulated companies. Clients include international law firms, FTSE 100 companies, governments and regulators across financial services, energy and renewables, healthcare and telecoms. Graduates support project teams with research and economic analysis, build and review financial models in Excel and databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ, run statistical analysis, and summarise findings in memos or slide decks. FTI also has a strategic communications division that began as Financial Dynamics, and has listed graduate schemes there and in data, transformation and technology.
According to the 2027 listing, the scheme starts in September 2027 and asks for a 2:1 (or on track for one) and numerical ability; finance or STEM degrees are not required. Support includes help towards a professional qualification (ACA or CFA), a dedicated coach, a signing bonus and possible secondments to offices such as Paris, Dubai, Hong Kong or Singapore. Applications involve a form and CV, online reasoning tests, a video interview and an assessment centre. The deadline was given as 29 or 30 October 2026 on different parts of the listing, so confirm it on FTI's site. Salary was described only as competitive. The firm says teams are small and work with senior experts, with about 170 consultants in the London valuation and damages team (own claim).
