Gizmo

A London-based AI study app that turns notes and documents into flashcards and quizzes, aimed mainly at 16 to 21 year olds.

About Gizmo

Gizmo is an AI study app. You upload notes, documents or web links and it turns them into flashcards, quizzes and other study formats, with social features such as shared study sessions and leaderboards.

We did not find a formal mission statement. Its press coverage says it wants learning to be more engaging and rewarding on the devices students already use, quoting its chief executive: "We're not fighting for less screen time".

Gizmo is London-based and was founded in 2021 by three Cambridge graduates. A job listing describes a hybrid role with four days a week in a Shoreditch office. Its users include UK GCSE pupils and people in over 120 countries. A headcount was not stated.

Listings look for people with an impact-driven, self-starting maker mindset, clear communicators, and often startup experience. It is a small, fast-moving team, so expect to take on a lot of responsibility early.

The roles we found were for experienced engineers and designers, not graduate schemes, and one listing had been removed in January 2026. We did not find internships or work experience, so check Gizmo's careers page.
