Goodlord

A London-headquartered lettings software company, founded in 2014, whose platform helps letting agents, landlords and tenants with referencing, contracts, payments and insurance.

About Goodlord

Goodlord provides software for the whole journey of a rental. Letting agents, landlords and tenants use its platform for tenant referencing (checking that a renter can afford a home), contracts, rent payments, compliance checks, utilities and insurance. Its own site lists products such as rent protection insurance, a guarantor service, identity and sanctions checks, a rental index, and Ren AI, an assistant trained on the content of the Renters' Rights Act. It describes its aim as making renting simple, transparent and stress-free, and says it supports thousands of agents and landlords across the UK.

Goodlord was founded in 2014 by Richard White, Philip Mundy and Tom Mundy. The founders have since moved on: Philip Mundy left in 2016, Richard White in 2017 and Tom Mundy in 2023. William Reeve joined as chief executive in 2018. The company's own words are that its purpose is "reshaping the way the world rents", its vision is "to make every UK tenancy better", and its mission is "to be the gold standard platform for renting". Its values are described as being ambitious, collaborative and driven to create progress without limits.

Goodlord's headquarters is in London, at The Hickman in Whitechapel. It opened an office in Sheffield in 2020 and another in Lincoln in 2023, so it has a base in the capital and two in the north and Midlands of England. Job adverts also describe remote and hybrid roles, for example a remote referencing executive and a contact centre team leader, but we have not checked how many people work remotely. Its customers are letting agency brands across the UK. Over the years it has grown partly by buying other companies, including Vouch in 2020, Acasa in 2021 and Halo in 2022.

On culture, the company says it is certified as a Great Place to Work, and reports being ranked 23rd in the Great Place to Work awards. It emphasises inclusivity, a people-first approach and career growth. Those are the company's own statements. Its site shows a staff counter that did not display a number when we read it, so we cannot give a headcount.

A company like this employs software engineers, product managers and designers, customer support and referencing teams, account managers, data analysts, marketers, finance and talent staff. Job boards show listings for roles such as a growth analyst, account manager, technical support specialist and insurance business development manager. If you are curious about how technology can make everyday life such as renting a home fairer and simpler, Goodlord shows many different ways to work in that space. Its website carries current vacancies.
