About HaysMac

HaysMac is a London accountancy and advice firm. It is partner-owned and offers audit (checking accounts), tax, outsourcing (running finance tasks for clients), risk assurance, deal advisory and corporate finance. It works with UK and international businesses, charities and other social purpose organisations, and private clients. Sectors include financial services, fintech, technology, property, hospitality, life sciences, retail, education and sport.

The firm's roots go back to 1866, when George Broom founded Broom, Son and Hays in London. MacIntyre and Co was set up in 1880. After a series of mergers, Hays Allan and MacIntyre and Co joined on 1 January 2001 to form haysmacintyre, with about 175 people. By 2025 headcount was over 650, and the firm rebranded as HaysMac in 2024. The current Managing Partner is Natasha Frangos, the firm's first woman in the role. Its headquarters are at Queen Street Place in the City of London, and it opened a Cape Town office in January 2024, which welcomed its first graduate trainees in January 2025 and has about 40 staff.

Its tagline is "For Business. For People. For Good." and its About page lists four values: Integrity, Collaboration, Empowerment and Dynamism. It says it wants to be a trusted adviser that acts in its clients' best interests and that it continually invests in its people. It adds that people are at the centre of everything it does. These are the firm's own words. Its social purpose work includes a staff-chosen charity partner, Arts for Dementia, and it is an accredited Living Wage employer, with all staff paid at least the London Living Wage.

The firm identified five core sectors in 2011: creative, media and technology; financial services; hospitality; social purpose; and property. It has since added equity capital markets, private equity, private wealth, international, retail and ecommerce, sport and fintech. Its two main service groups are risk assurance and advisory, and transaction services. It co-founded MSI Global Alliance, a network that helps overseas clients find advisers in law, tax, audit and accountancy.

HaysMac describes itself as a cutting-edge firm that keeps traditional priorities such as hard work, helpfulness and keeping its word. It reports that 87% of staff would recommend it and that 93% say people of all cultures and backgrounds are respected, and says it was named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work in 2025, its second year running. It also won DEI Champion of the Year at the Lloyd's British Business Excellence Awards. These are its own claims. School leaver apprenticeships in audit and tax run 4.5 years towards the ACA qualification (the main chartered accountancy qualification) with a September intake, and a private client and trusts tax school leaver role for September 2027 is also advertised. Graduates take a 3.5-year ACA route in audit, tax or outsourcing, and the firm offers year-long placements and a 2026 work experience programme. Check the vacancies page for dates and requirements.
