Humanoid

A London robotics company, founded in 2024, building industrial humanoid robots and the AI software that coordinates them. It says robots should support people, not replace them.

About Humanoid

Humanoid is a London-based robotics and AI company that builds humanoid robots for industrial work. Its HMND 01 robot comes in two versions: a wheeled one, with a stable base, torso and arms for handling components and moving objects, and a bipedal one that walks on legs and is suited to tighter or changing spaces. It has also built KinetIQ, a software "shared brain" that coordinates tasks across a whole fleet of robots.

The company was founded in May 2024 by Artem Sokolov, who is also its chief executive. It is registered in the UK as SKL Robotics Ltd, with its global headquarters in London and offices reported in Boston and Vancouver. Before founding Humanoid, Sokolov ran a jewellery company.

Humanoid's stated aim is to build "a future where intelligent robots work safely alongside people". Sokolov has said that robots should support people rather than replace them, and that he wants to free people from routine, repetitive tasks. The company plans to start with industrial work.

Partners and customers named in reports include SAP, NVIDIA, Bosch and Siemens, and the automotive supplier Schaeffler has signed a deal to deploy wheeled units across its factories. Bosch is also named as its contract manufacturing partner. Some figures, such as pre-orders and test results, come from the company or its partners.

For young people, Humanoid shows how robotics combines mechanical and electronic engineering, software and AI, and shows that new robotics companies are being built in the UK. The pages we read do not describe early-careers programmes, so check the company's own site for current roles.
