Hypervision Surgical

A King's College London spin-out that makes real-time spectral imaging cameras and AI to give surgeons extra information about tissue.

About Hypervision Surgical

Hypervision Surgical develops real-time hyperspectral imaging for surgery. Its HYPERSNAP system gives surgeons tissue-level information during operations, using on-chip spectral sensing and AI analysis. It has UKCA certification and US FDA clearance for use in open and keyhole general surgery.

Chief executive Dr Michael Ebner describes the company's mission as to "power surgical intelligence through hyperspectral vision". A job listing gives the aim as to "equip surgeons with real-time, AI-driven tissue intelligence".

The company is a spin-out from King's College London, working with the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering and the St Thomas' MedTech ecosystem, and its job listing gives an office at Great Portland Street, London. By April 2026 it had supported more than 170 operations across three UK NHS trusts, including St Thomas' Hospital.

The listing stresses patient impact, a collaborative culture and careful, well-documented work (company claims). We did not find a separate values page or headcount.

The Imaging Systems Engineer role we saw wanted a BSc or MSc in physics, optics or engineering plus hands-on optics-bench experience. It was removed on 28 September 2026, so it is not open now. We found no graduate scheme or apprenticeship; check the company's job board for new roles.
