The UK and Ireland business formerly known as RSA, now trading as Intact Insurance, specialising in commercial and specialty insurance.
Intact Insurance UK is the UK and Ireland business that used to be known as RSA. RSA was bought by Intact Financial Corporation, a Canadian insurer, in 2021, and in 2025 announced it would adopt the Intact Insurance name by the end of the year. Its legal entity is Intact Insurance UK Limited, registered in England and Wales. RSA, NIG and FarmWeb were brought together in 2024 and now sit under the one brand.
The company says it aims to be the best commercial lines insurer in the UK and to build a leading specialty lines business. It describes itself as built on expertise, easy to do business with and driven by its values. Its chief executive is Ken Norgrove, who said when announcing the rebrand "we said we would move to one brand in the UK." The company also stresses that it will keep serving customers through the transition. Intact's own chief executive, Charles Brindamour, called aligning under the Intact brand "a natural next step in our strategy". Intact Financial is described as the largest general insurer in Canada, and the UK business describes itself as a top five UK commercial lines insurer.
Its registered office is 22 Bishopsgate, London, and it describes key trading offices without listing them on the page we read. A broker toolkit page lists recent roadshows in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and London, which points to regional teams in those cities. RSA's older profiles describe an insurer with a heritage of around 300 years and an employee figure of over 4,500 people, but we did not find a current UK headcount.
The products it sells give a good idea of the jobs involved: property, motor, construction and engineering, renewable energy, professional and financial risks, marine, liability, cyber, agriculture, Scottish bonds, and specialty lines such as business travel accident, specialty rail and superyacht. It also offers risk consulting, claims and broker support services. Underwriters judge risks, risk consultants visit customers and help prevent losses, and claims teams help customers recover when something goes wrong.
The pages we read had no culture description or staff stories, so we cannot report on working life from the company's own words. The insurer sells mainly through brokers, so roles often involve working closely with broker partners across the UK. Ask at interview about team locations, hybrid working and who you would work with day to day.
