ITV's production arm, making TV shows such as Love Island, Coronation Street, Line of Duty and The Graham Norton Show through labels across the UK.
ITV Studios is the programme-making arm of ITV. In the UK it works through a network of production labels that make drama, entertainment, factual, daytime and comedy shows for ITV and for other broadcasters and streamers, including the BBC, Channel 4, Sky and Netflix.
The ITV careers site does not give a formal mission for the studios. It does say it wants to build a creative industry where people can thrive and build lasting careers, that inclusion matters ("ITV is for everyone"), and that it works with others such as ScreenSkills and social enterprises to open up opportunities for under-represented groups.
The UK labels are spread around the country. Its careers site lists 5 Acts Productions and Boom in Cardiff, 12 Yard in London and Glasgow, World Productions (Line of Duty, Bodyguard, Vigil) in London, Glasgow and Cardiff, The Garden in London, Leeds and Manchester, and Lifted Entertainment in London and Manchester. ITV Continuing Drama is based in Manchester and Leeds and makes Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Current vacancies were listed in London and Salford. Other labels on the site include Big Talk Studios (Rev, Him & Her, The Outlaws), MultiStory Media in London, Manchester and Cardiff (Tonight, Come Dine With Me), Monumental Television (Ghosts, Back to Black), So Television (founded 2000, The Graham Norton Show), Tall Story Pictures (founded 2016) and Oxford Scientific Films in London, which makes natural history programmes.
Shows named on the site include Love Island, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Dancing on Ice, Countdown, University Challenge, The Voice UK, 24 Hours in A&E, Good Morning Britain and This Morning. The site says Boom has nearly 230 staff. ITV also describes a Diversity Acceleration Plan, a Cultural Advisory Council and staff profile stories on its site, which are the company's own account of its culture.
A programme needs many kinds of people. The careers site lists make-up artists, designers, producers, camera operators, directors, technical assistants, production coordinators and accountants. It says many of these roles are freelance, while long-running shows use fixed-term or permanent staff. Technology teams also work across the business. If you are curious, look at the credits of your favourite show and notice how many different job titles appear.
