About Jet2

Jet2 is a UK leisure airline, and its sister business Jet2holidays is the UK's largest tour operator. Jet2.com's first flight, to Amsterdam, left Leeds Bradford Airport on 12 February 2003. The company grew out of Channel Express, which began flying aircraft in 1983 under Philip Meeson. Its head office is in Leeds, and its Boeing 737 and Airbus A321neo jets fly holidaymakers to sunny destinations. Jobs range from pilots and cabin crew to engineers, customer service, marketing, finance, IT and the Operations Control Centre that runs round the clock.

Jet2 describes itself as "famously friendly" and focuses on a VIP customer experience, with an ethos of "Have a lovely holiday". We did not find a more formal mission statement. Its staff awards scheme is called "A Great Deal Friendlier". These are the company's own descriptions.

Jet2's UK bases include Belfast International, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle, alongside Leeds Bradford. Its apprenticeships are mainly based in Leeds and Manchester: commercial roles at Holiday House in Leeds city centre, operational roles at Leeds Bradford Airport, and engineering apprentices at the Jet2 hangar at Manchester Airport.

Jet2 was ranked number one airline in Glassdoor's 2022 Best Places to Work in the UK list (43rd overall), a ranking based on staff reviews. Its apprentices say that earning a wage while learning is a big attraction; a 2021 IT apprentice advised future applicants to network, research the company and highlight all relevant work experience. In February 2026 Jet2 said it supported National Apprenticeship Week for the fourth year running and planned its largest-ever apprenticeship graduation later in 2026.

Jet2 says it has over 200 apprentices at Levels 2 to 7. Areas include engineering (multi-skilled aircraft engineer or flight simulator engineer), IT and digital, marketing, finance and procurement, HR, customer service, operations, in-flight retail and sustainability, along with degree and master's-level apprenticeships. A new 18-month Transport Scheduler apprenticeship with an aviation focus started in 2026, and two Apprentice Crew Planners at Leeds Bradford are in the first cohort. The application takes a short online form, an online video interview or assessment, then an assessment centre or interview. Entry requirements and pay were not listed on the pages we read. A graduate scheme was not confirmed.
