The UK pharmaceutical arm of Johnson & Johnson (formerly Janssen), based in High Wycombe and Maidenhead, with 12-month life sciences placements.
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is the pharmaceutical business of Johnson & Johnson, previously known as Janssen. In the UK its teams cover research and development, clinical trials, commercial roles such as sales and marketing, drug safety (pharmacovigilance), and support functions such as HR, finance and IT.
A J&J placement listing states the company's mission as "health is everything", with an aim to prevent, treat and cure complex diseases through innovative medicine and medical technology. We did not find a separate mission for the UK pharma business.
The ABPI directory lists the UK site as High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. A 2027 placement listing names High Wycombe or Maidenhead in Berkshire as bases and says the Maidenhead office is moving to central Maidenhead in October 2026.
We did not find culture information that was not marketing copy. Student review sites list placements in areas such as oncology marketing, which shows you do not have to be a lab scientist to work here.
Early-career routes in the ABPI directory are work experience for school students, undergraduate industrial (sandwich) placements, graduate and MSc employment, PhD and postdoctoral roles. One 2027 Clinical Trial Assistant placement lasts 12 months from June 2027, asks for two years of a life sciences degree with at least a 2:1 in first year, and had a deadline of 23 November 2026. Pay was not stated.
