Kwalee is a games company that makes and publishes games for mobile phones, PC and consoles. Its focus is on hyper casual, hybrid casual and casual mobile games, which are quick to pick up and play, along with PC and console titles. Its own site says its mobile games have reached over one billion downloads. Its published PC and console list includes Scathe, a bullet hell shooter, Die by the Blade, a fighting game, Wildmender, a desert survival game, The Precinct, an action game set in 1983, In Sink, a co-operative puzzle game, and Town to City, a Mediterranean city builder released in September 2025, according to a games database. Its mobile hits have included Go Fish!, Draw It, Jetpack Jump and Rocket Sky!.
Its tagline is "We Make Fun Games for Everyone". It also says it is socially responsible and supports charities including SpecialEffect, GamesAid, Safe In Our World and FareShare. We did not find a longer mission statement than this on the page we read.
Kwalee was founded by David Darling CBE, who co-founded the UK games company Codemasters and is the chief executive. Its own page dates the company to 2011, though its history timeline starts in 2012. Its UK base is Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, which the company calls home to its first studio and to "Silicon Spa", the cluster of games companies in the town. It also has a studio in Bengaluru, India. Wikipedia lists past offices in Beijing and Portugal and a French studio, Tictales, acquired in 2022. A games database describes it as the UK's biggest publisher of hyper-casual mobile games, and Wikipedia says App Annie ranked it the UK's biggest mobile game publisher by downloads in 2021. The company's first releases in 2012 were small iOS puzzle games, so it has grown from a very small start.
The company says it has over 400 team members across Leamington Spa and Bengaluru. Staff quoted on the page describe a place where ideas can come from anyone, with a friendly, collaborative atmosphere and a shared passion for games. These are the company's own claims, so ask about them at interview. The team covers technical, marketing, publishing and administrative work as well as game design.
Kwalee has won a TIGA Publisher of the Year award in 2022, according to Wikipedia, and has published PC and console games such as Wildmender, Die by the Blade and The Precinct.
