A London company that makes cyber risk easy to understand, using an online platform to help insurers, brokers and businesses see and manage their exposure.
KYND is a cyber risk technology company. Its platform looks at a business from the outside, in the way an attacker might, and turns what it finds into plain-language reports about that company's cyber risk. It serves insurers and brokers who want to understand and price cyber risk, and it is aimed particularly at small and mid-sized businesses, which often have little help with cyber security. Its software connects to other systems through an API, which means insurers and brokers can build the information into their own tools.
KYND says its mission is to "make complex cyber risks easy to understand and manage". The company was founded in 2018 and is privately owned. A careers-site profile names Andrew Thomas as chief executive, who has about 20 years in UK and European cyber security and was previously managing director of Garlik and of the EMEA business at CSID, and Melanie Hayes as chief marketing officer, who has about 15 years in marketing, most recently at Experian. The founders are not named on the pages we read, so we do not name them here.
KYND is headquartered in London, at 30 City Road, EC1Y, near Old Street. It has also expanded to the United States, which it did in 2023. Its profile names partners including Beazley, Howden, Paragon, Brokerslink and Alliant, and in September 2025 the specialist insurer DUAL announced that it would use KYND to extend its cyber insurance offering, beginning in Australia and New Zealand. KYND has also been recognised on the Global CyberTech 100 list, according to its profile. A third-party estimate puts the team at between 21 and 100 people.
The pages we could read say little about company culture, so we do not describe it. The profile does list benefits, which are the company's own claims: 25 days of annual leave, private medical insurance, death-in-service insurance, a pension and the chance to join an employee share option scheme. The senior leaders have backgrounds in cyber security and consumer data companies, which suggests a team that mixes insurance, security and technology thinking.
Companies like KYND employ cyber security analysts, software engineers and data scientists, product managers, people who explain technical findings in simple language, sales and partnership staff who work with insurers and brokers, and marketing, finance and operations teams. For someone interested in technology and security, it shows that cyber careers are not only found in security firms but also in insurance and risk.
