Legora

A Swedish legal AI company that has set up a London engineering hub to build its platform.

About Legora

Legora is a legal AI company. It makes software that helps lawyers do the reading-heavy parts of their job faster, such as researching case law, reviewing piles of contracts and drafting documents. The company calls its product an agentic AI platform for legal work, meaning AI that can carry out several steps of a task on its own while the lawyer stays in charge. It says it serves more than 1,200 law firms and in-house legal teams in over 50 markets, with over 100,000 users (company figures, June 2026).

Legora started in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2023 under the name Leya and changed its name to Legora in February 2025. A secondary source, AI Wiki, names Max Junestrand as chief executive, Sigge Labor as a co-founder and president, and says Junestrand studied at the Stockholm School of Economics. Today the company says it has 16 cities across four continents, including Stockholm, London, Munich, New York, Sydney and Bengaluru.

We did not find a formal mission statement. Junestrand has described the aim as empowering exceptional lawyers to work collaboratively with AI, and the company stresses that AI should support lawyers' judgement rather than replace it. Of the new European offices, he said customers have built Legora into the way they work.

Product names on its site include Legora aOS (its agentic operating system), Workflows, Legal Research, Tabular Review (a grid that lets you compare and pull data from many documents at once), Agent and Intake. Reports name law firms using it including Bird & Bird, Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin and Dentons (secondary source). In June 2026 it announced a London engineering base for AI engineering and product work, the third pillar of its engineering teams alongside Stockholm and New York. It also planned new offices in Madrid, Milan and Paris in the third quarter of 2026. Junestrand said engineers who understand how AI applies in professional settings are disproportionately concentrated in London, and the UK AI Minister called the move a vote of confidence in UK talent.

The company is growing quickly. It aims for a combined 700 employees across Europe, the Middle East and Africa within six to twelve months of the announcement (company aim), and has begun hiring in its new locations. The new offices are described as hubs for customer success, go-to-market (reaching and winning customers) and legal engineering. We found no description of the culture and no graduate or apprenticeship scheme, so check its careers page.
