A London fintech lender that rebuilds loans, credit cards and car finance with technology.
Lendable is a London technology company that wants to make borrowing money simpler and fairer. It runs loans, credit cards and car finance, using software and data to decide quickly whether someone can borrow and how much. Credit simply means money you borrow and pay back over time. Its UK brands include Zable credit cards and Autolend car finance, and it is also behind the loans offered by Asda Money and the Post Office, according to Wikipedia.
Wikipedia says Lendable was founded in 2014 by Martin Kissinger, Victoria van Lennep, Paul Pamment and Jakob Schwarz, and that Kissinger is chief executive. It began as an online lending platform that automated credit decisions to be faster and cheaper than traditional banks. Its headquarters is at Paul Street, Telephone House, in London. Its recruitment listings describe a London fintech (a business using technology to deliver financial services) with over 800 staff, and Wikipedia says it has expanded to the United States and Mexico.
Lendable’s stated mission is to “build the world’s best technology to help people get credit and save money”. In job listings it says it has rebuilt loans, credit cards and car finance from scratch. It also says it builds its technology in-house using data, machine learning and AI. These are the company’s own claims, and we did not find a published values list beyond the culture notes below.
Named products include personal loans (Wikipedia says UK loans go up to £35,000 over terms of up to eight years), the Zable credit card, Autolend car finance, launched in 2021, and Zable Mobile, a mobile phone plan launched in October 2025 with the company Gigs. Wikipedia describes Lendable as one of the UK’s largest consumer lenders by 2025.
Lendable’s own listings stress ownership, small teams of exceptional people and a startup mindset, with hybrid roles needing three office days a week. Recent early-careers openings advertised on job boards include a 2027 Summer Intern role in London (10 weeks from 29 June 2027, for penultimate-year students with Python or SQL, listed at £50,000 a year, which looks like an annual rate), a Credit Analyst intern role and a Graduate Operations Transformation Associate role. Hiring steps for interns include an online test, a take-home coding task and case studies, finishing with a culture conversation and lunch with recent graduates. Benefits listed include private health cover and cycle-to-work. Check Lendable’s careers page for the current position.
